Schedule and cohort changes now allowed for ECTs and mentors transferring to you from another provider

Production release Sandbox release

In API specification point 19.1, we told you that only the current lead provider could update a schedule or cohort during a transfer.

We said that as the future lead provider, you would receive a validation error if you tried to do this. This was because we thought we would be unable to support the participant having a different schedule or cohort with two different lead providers at the same time.

What’s changed

You can now make cohort or schedule changes to an ECT or mentor with a participant_status of joining, before they have officially started training with you. This includes when they are currently or have previously been training with a different lead provider.

This change does not affect: - the cohort or schedule set by the current lead provider - the current lead provider’s ability to submit declarations

This restriction was removed after we fixed some functionality, making it no longer necessary. We believe this gives lead providers greater flexibility when managing transfers.

Once a participant has been reported as starting with a new lead provider, the previous lead provider will still be unable to change their schedule or cohort.
